What is CoderCoach?

CoderCoach is a workforce performance platform built for health information management (HIM) professionals, coding departments, and healthcare organizations working with ICD-10-CA and CCI - Canada's national diagnostic and procedure coding standards, maintained by the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI).

CoderCoach gives HIM managers, coding supervisors, and HIM program instructors measurable visibility into team coding accuracy, with tools to drive targeted practice and track month-over-month improvement. Unlike generic training tools, it is built specifically for the Canadian context: DAD, NACRS, Canadian Coding Standards, and the unique structure of ICD-10-CA and CCI codes.

CoderCoach is also aware of how coding roles vary across Canada's provinces and territories. In some provinces a single coder covers both inpatient (DAD) and day surgery; in others, day surgery and emergency department visits are handled by a separate NACRS team. Each coder's profile captures their province and database type — DAD or NACRS — so that their Knowledge Polygon, assessments, and education plans are calibrated to the work they actually do.
